Seeing Timmy Mallet helplessly strung up in a giant net is something that any Eighties child probably secretly used to hope for.

Kidnapped: Timmy Mallett

So anyone who suffered the early morning cries of the former TV presenter on the Wide Awake Club will want to tune in to I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here! tonight to see their wish come true.

The former children's TV star joined the jungle camp last night — but was kidnapped before he even got there.

Mallet, 53, was making his way to join the other contestants when he picked up a cake on the jungle floor and was swept up into the trees in a giant net. Following him was ex-Dollar singer David Van Day who was also caught. Those in camp were told to meet “certain demands” to set the men free.

Meanwhile, Nicola McLean told the camp it was “my boobs' first birthday today”, which prompted everyone to sing Happy Birthday.
